Pamela Helena Wilson was born in New York City where she currently lives and works. She received a BFA from the University of California Berkeley and an MA in Art History, Theory and Criticism from the Art Institute of Chicago.  Her paintings and watercolors have been exhibited both nationally and internationally.

National/International curated exhibitions include: The Unhomely: Phantom Scenes in a Global Society, International Biennial of Contemporary Art Seville, curated by Okwui Enwesor (2006); Particulate Matter, Mills College Art Museum, Oakland (2006), Pacific Light: California Watercolor Refracted, 1907-2007, The Nordic Watercolor Museum, Skarhamn, Sweden; Latent Images, Gallery Fucares, Madrid (2007); and Twilight, San Marco Gallery, Dominican University, Marin, CA (2016).

Paintings and works on paper are included in the permanent collections of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; The Mac Arthur Foundation, Chicago, Il; San Francisco Civic Art Collection; The Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive; and University of San Francisco – Mission Bay, Art Collection.

She is the recipient of a 2009 Fellowship from the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation in Fine Arts.
